How to Use the Image Color Extractor
1. Upload an Image
Drag and Drop: Drag an image file directly onto the designated drop area.
Select File: Click the "Select a File" button to choose an image from your device.
Paste: You can also paste an image directly from your clipboard into the browser window.
2. View Extracted Colors
Once an image is uploaded, the tool will automatically process it and display the extracted colors.
Each color is shown as a box with its HEX code and frequency count.
Colors are initially sorted by frequency (most common to least common).
3. Adjust Settings
Sort Colors
Use the "Sort By" dropdown to organize colors by:
Frequency (default)
Hue
Brightness
Adjust Similarity Threshold
Use the slider to set how similar colors need to be to be grouped together.
A lower value will result in more distinct colors, while a higher value will group similar shades.
4. Interact with Colors
Click on any color box to copy its HEX code to your clipboard.
For keyboard users, use the Tab key to navigate and Enter to copy the color.
5. Export Colors
Choose an export format from the dropdown:
TXT: Simple text list of colors and their frequencies
CSV: Spreadsheet-friendly format
JSON: For developers or more complex data needs
Click the "Download" button to save the file to your device.
6. Generate Color Report
Click the "Download PDF" button to create a detailed PDF report of all color replacements.
7. Reset the Tool
To start over with a new image, click the "Reset" button in the top right corner.
Tips:
For large images, the tool may take a moment to process. A progress bar will show the extraction status.
The tool works best with images that have distinct color areas.
Experiment with the similarity threshold to find the right balance of color variety for your needs.
